Who is Stephanie Suggs?

Stephanie Suggs is a writer, artist, nonprofit professional, and founder of Art Journal Atlanta. She enjoys paper-making, bookmaking, painting, and photography. She loves animals, which she proves through her writing, a home populated by two black cats and a dog (all rescues), and by allowing herself to be thrown countless times while training horses for a non-profit program.

She spent the first nine years of her career working with various non-profit organizations in Atlanta, GA, before moving to California to complete an MFA in Writing. She continued her nonprofit career in the San Francisco Bay Area for three years, then moved to northern New Mexico to work for a year, and now she is back in the Atlanta area.

She has lead art journaling as self care workshops, case-managed families recovering from trauma, delivered meals-on-wheels, painted and repaired the homes of low-income senior adults, and conducted popular education workshops with young adults because more than anything, she loves people. People have stories to live and share, and she cannot get enough. Stephanie currently resides in Tucker, GA and can be contacted at artjournalatlanta@gmail.com.
